IEEE RGIT, the biggest technical committee, in association with GS score conducted a webinar for students interested in a career in civil services. The webinar was organized under the guidance of IPS Officer Ilma Afroz (CSE 2017, AIR 217) with Ajay Sah, Moderator and with the help of Munil Tripathi (faculty at GS score). The webinar was conducted on 18th of October 2020 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Google Meet platform. The webinar was attended by 85 participants from various colleges.

The event started with our S.E. coordinator Sushrut Watekar introducing IPS officer Ilma Afroz and Moderator at GS score Mr. Ajay Sah. The event was conducted in a Q&A format. Mr. Ajay Sah who asked IPS Officer Ilma Afroz various questions arising in the mind of an UPSC Aspirant took the event forward. IPS Officer Ilma Afroz gave students a brief idea of what UPSC exam is about, books that an aspirant should refer in order to ace the exam, tips and tricks that one should follow.

Speaker also spoke about how to choose options for exam, how to strategize study plan for minimal time wastage. In addition, the speaker put light upon struggles that students go through while preparing for the examination and how to avoid it, importance of having a strong foundation and knowing about current affairs when preparing for exam.

IPS Officer Ilma Afroz talked about her journey from a small village in UP to Indian police services. She spoke about how her life has changed after becoming an IPS officer in Mandi, Himachal Pradesh. She emphasized on the importance of revising your lessons and to treat all the subjects with equal zeal.

Nearing to the end of webinar, Mr. Ajay Sah asked IPS Officer a message for the aspirant for which she said, “Focus on enjoying the process rather than focusing on the results. Also give justice to your curiosity”. The webinar concluded after a vote of thanks given by S.E. Coordinator Sushrut Watekar and best wishes from IPS Officer Ilma Afroz and Moderator Mr. Ajay Sah.
